STORY, SONG & SOLITUDE WITH DAVID WILCOX

DECEMBER 15-17, 2017 – SMITHVILLE, TENNESSEE

Greetings from The SoulCare Project, an organization dedicated to providing space to set aside the busy and productive life in order to listen and hear God’s voice through stillness. You are cordially invited to come away with us on retreat on December 15-17, 2017. We are privileged to have world renowned singer/ songwriter/storyteller, David Wilcox, joining us for a fourth year in a row as our retreat facilitator through the theme of “Story, Song & Solitude.”

Our relationship with David Wilcox started four years ago as we started partnering with him and Nance for our annual Story, Song & Solitude Retreat. It is a very special and intimate weekend the draws people in from all over the country. The Inn at Evins Mill is a 5 star bed and breakfast that is just the perfect setting to gather. Delicious meals coupled with lingering conversations are what set the stage for listening with one another in quiet and in community while David draws our hearts into deeper waters through Story, Song & Solitude.

For decades David Wilcox has been making music that bravely navigates a path through the emotional static of modern life towards a better place. With a style that The Boston Globe says “Combines the best of both pop and modern folk aesthetics,” he writes songs that are wake up calls to the heart, balm for the soul.

Who is invited? Men and women brought together by a love of music and a desire to live with an open heart.

How do I register? Scroll down below to register. You can pay online or mail us a check.

What is the theme of the retreat? Story, Song & Solitude is the theme that guides our time. David Wilcox facilitates every session through guided conversation and reflective listening. There will be room for being together and for being alone.

What are the lodging arrangements? The majority of our group will be staying in the 12 creekside cottages at The Inn at Evins Mill. Participants will be sharing a room with your own private bed. Contact The SoulCare Project about additional costs if you would like your own private room at info@thesoulcareproject.org.

What about meals? All meals throughout the retreat are included in the cost. For many guests, five star dining at Evins Mill is the highlight of their experience. Unlike a traditional B&B, Evins Mill is a full service resort, fielding a full chef and wait staff and offering not only breakfast but also dinner, lunch, breaks & full bar service.

“For me, it feels like when I look out at the world there’s just a need for people to be talking about where they get their hope now,” Wilcox says, “That’s what my music has always been about. These days, there’s so much adversity and loss of hope that anything you can offer that’s on the positive side is a welcome relief.” -David Wilcox
