“In silence all our usual patterns assault us. That’s why most of us give up rather quickly. When Jesus was led into the wilderness the first things to show up were the wild beasts.”
Who is invited? Men and women who are caregivers and culture shapers, who come in all forms, are invited to join us. Whether you serve in your local church or in your local community, you are welcome to join us. Whether you are thriving or barely surviving…or have had to pull away from ministry altogether, you are welcome to join us. What is the theme of the retreat? Wholeheartedness is where we will hover for the weekend. Most of us lead busy, frenzied, fragmented lives. Our inner fragmentation keeps us from fully experiencing the wholeness and peace — the sense of flourishing — that our hearts so deeply long for.
We are excited to partner with Chuck DeGroat as he brings a refreshing perspective on exploring a healthy rhythm between ministry and self care. In his book Wholeheartedness, he invites readers to admit the exhaustion and fragmentation they experience on a daily basis even as he casts a vision for wholeheartedness. With wisdom gained through his years of pastoral care and counseling, he explores the phenomenon of human dividedness and wholeness through the Christian story, examines how others have experienced it, and looks at how psychologists and researchers suggest addressing it.
This particular retreat is designed with leaders in mind. We have hand picked an amazing five star location, a private beach house resort, to be coupled with a relaxed retreat rhythm that will allow you to enjoy resting in a place amazing beauty.
