The SoulCare Project, an organization dedicated to providing space to set aside the busy and productive life in order to listen and hear God’s voice through stillness will be facilitating a private three day soul care retreat for Orphanos. Primarily, The SoulCare Project will be caring for Orphanos staff who work in Asia and Africa. Orpahnos is an organization providing “fee free” donor management services for non-U.S. based Christian ministries and missionaries that care for orphans and vulnerable children.
As one might imagine, working overseas with orphans and vulnerable children is a rewarding endeavor, but it also brings its challenges. These challenges can often mean exhaustion, burn-out, and being so overwhelmed by all the need that exists in working with orphans and vulnerable children. This particular retreat will provide a much needed time for reflection, solitude, and stillness for these leaders who constantly give their time and energy. Together we will discover healthier rhythms to daily life in order that these leaders can sustain and flourish in the work they do. In fact, this retreat may be one of the few times these leaders have to experience rhythms of rest and stillness.
Most of us lead busy, frenzied, and fragmented lives. And our inner fragmentation keeps us from fully experiencing a flourishing and peaceful heart that our hearts so deeply longs for. Thus much of our time spent together will be moments to engage in conversation, time for solitude and silence, and time for individual care. We will focus our time on the importance and necessity of caring for our own souls with room for solitude and a space for prayer. This retreat will provide an opportunity to enjoy, reflect, and to rest in the presence of God.
